Professional Education and Credentials

Since 2010, I have worked with clients to achieve goals and experience real lasting success.

The success has been built on the ability to really understanding  each client’s unique culture, situation, opportunities, and challenges.  Once I have had the chance to get a clear understand of you, I design practical and innovative solutions to best meet those needs.

As a result of working with me, clients experience improved performance and increased results. Leaders will have the opportunity to develop a greater sense of confidence and growth opportunity which will drive fulfillment in their roles as leaders.

I really love people and love seeing them succeed. It’s really exciting when both the organization and the people in it succeed beyond their expectation.

About Michelle               Neustaedter

At Extreme Excellence,
we are passionate about people. It is our goal to move our clients toward a creating lasting influence and impact on people’s lives.

I am a Certified Clinical Counsellor specializing in individual and couples therapy [Gottman method and Emotion Focused Therapy], and maintain a private practice in Airdrie, Alberta.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts  degree in Psychology from Athabasca University and Mount Royal University and a Master of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix.

In my work, I use  an eclectic approach incorporating an empathetic, personalized program  of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) as well as some techniques from Narrative Therapy and a few other approaches. Through the use of behavior management techniques and experiential learning approaches, my clients experienced great change and gained confidence with their identities.

I am no stranger to the twists and turns that life can take us on. I have been able to use much of my life experience to support my clients. I have faced many trials in life. As the mother of 4 children and many difficulties along that road, I work to help other parents and can understand the difficulties they walk through. I am able to use a variety of perspectives within faith-based approaches and treatments. I bring the fruit of my training, extensive study and reflection to my work with clients struggling for meaning and self-identity, helping them examine their beliefs and schemas about life as it impacts their issues and freeing them up to know greater flourishing in life and living.

I am experienced treating adults, adolescents and children, and enjoy incorporating art therapy and experiential learning assignments into my work. This helps clients access and develop the areas of self: body, soul, and mind.

In the area of Couples Counselling, I’m trained in both Gottman and Emotion Focused Therapy (Sue Johnson). I flexibly incorporate both approaches as suits couple’s needs.

Counselling Focus:

My focus is on the family. It is my belief that the breakdown in the family has led to other cognitive, mental, and spiritual problems including depression, anxiety, stress disorders, anger issues, marital unhappiness, eating disorders, inability to cope effectively with life situations, and self-esteem issues. For this reason, I believe we have to attack and conquer these issues in order to develop healthy, well-functioning individuals.

I work with families, couples, individuals, adults, and children

Theoretical Framework and Belief:

Each of us are a spirit, we have a soul (mind, emotions, and will), and we live in a body. Our body carries out the will of the spirit and the soul. For this reason, the things we think about impact our environment as well as how we function physically. Medical and neuroscientological research suggests that 87-95% of physical and mental illness come from our thought life. It is vital that we seek out, identify, and change toxic thoughts. I work from an eclectic framework combining cognitive-behavioral, emotion-focussed, narrative, solution-focussed frameworks as a means of identifying these irrational thoughts and beliefs and changing behaviors in order to develop total wellness. It is important to remember that everything we do started as a thought.

Equip, Empower, Inspire!

"To put the world in order, we must first put the nation in order;

to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order;

to put the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life;

we must first set our hearts right.”

--Confuscius

Working together, I will move you and/or your team or organization in the desired direction to reach your goals.

I love people and I love seeing them succeed.

As a Certified Coach and Trainer and using industry leading tools and techniques, I walk individuals and organizations from challenge to change and functional to optimal, in an engaging and fun way so everyone has the opportunity to grow, reach their potential, and develop motivation. The ability to understand, communicate and appreciate each other is imperative to a business’ success. I help develop these skills using a strength-based, solution-focused approach in my workshops, trainings and presentations.

Being also a Certified Clinicial Counsellor, I spent much of my career walking with people through some of their toughest times. I have been invited into people's most private moments and have had the privilege of seeing significant success and change in so many lives. Even though we can't change what has happened in the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges so that you too can live up to your true potential.

I am no stranger to the twists and turns that life can take us on. I have been able to use much of my life experience to support my clients. I have faced many trials in life and career. Through this, I am able to better understand some of the difficulties companies and individuals can face. I bring the fruit of my training, extensive study and reflection, and life experience to my work with clients.

I seek to help people find their strengths and develop them so that they can live happier and more confident lives.

It is my desire to help you learn how to deal with life's ups and downs in a productive manner and develop the skills to manage a stressful and changing environment.
